Dear Friends,

I am writing today to congratulate you on becoming a member of an extraordinary group
of donors.  Your recent gift to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has made you part of our
exclusive Star Society.  Through you gift, you have shown your commitment to helping
children with life-threatening medical conditions share the power of a wish®.

Your heartfelt contribution puts you at the Star of Hope level.  Your generosity means so
much to each of us at the Make-A-Wish Foundation. But even more importantly, it
means the world to children like Tyre. He is one of the many children who have received
their true wish thanks to wonderful friends like you.

Six-year-old Tyre, who was born with spina bifida, loves orchestras.  His parents often
see him walking around his home waving a chopstick as he listens to music.  Tyre’s wish
was to dress up in a tuxedo and take the stage in front of an orchestra as its conductor.

His wish granters arranged for him to lead a professional orchestra based in Arizona.
Best of all this wasn’t just practice: Tyre was in charge of conducting John Philip
Sousa’s The Stars and Stripes Forever during a live performance at Phoenix Symphony
Hall. He even had a real baton instead of his usual chopstick. The audience awarded
Tyre with two standing ovations, making it a night he’ll never forget.

Magical wishes like Tyre are vitally important – to seriously ill children, their families,
their communities and to donors. Each wish offers a brave wish kid a life-affirming
experience, irreplaceable memories and a respite from the everyday concerns of living
with a life-threatening medical condition. You are an essential part of turning these
dreams into reality, and I can’t thank you enough for all you do.

Since granting our first wish in 1980, we have grown into a global phenomenon that
grants a wish every 40 minutes in the United States. Each of these wishes is a
celebration of hope, strength and joy.  We value your commitment to these courageous
children and hope that being part of their lives is as gratifying to you as it is to all of us
at the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
